This is a transcript of the first of a 5-part Seminar on the Wisdom of Hermes Trismegistus, titled, "Orientation of the Hermetic Philosophy". Here, Mr. Hall lays out the historical context in which Hermeticism arose, and the cultural factors involved. Hall, also goes into depth about how to authenticate and date ancient texts, particularly when there are only incomplete fragments to work with.
